Effects of Axial Air Deck on Blast-Induced Ground Vibration

Ruishan Cheng et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effects of axial air deck on blast-induced ground vibrations through field tests and numerical simulations. It finds that increasing air-deck ratios can decrease near-field ground vibrations to some extent and discusses the impacts of air-deck positions, ratios, and numbers in detail. Additionally, numerical models are built and validated to explore the influences of different air-deck configurations on near-field ground vibrations.

Experimental Study of Dynamic Mechanical Response and Energy Dissipation of Rock Having a Circular Opening Under Impact Loading

Hao Wu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanical properties and energy evolution of sandstone samples with and without circular cavities under impact loading tests. The presence of a cavity weakened the dynamic compressive strength and affected crack initiation and rock fragmentation.

Cracking mechanism and strength criteria evaluation of granite affected by intermediate principal stresses subjected to unloading stress state

Fan Feng et al.

Summary: Experimental tests on Miluo granite specimens reveal that as the intermediate principal stress σ2 increases, the failure mode shifts from shear to slabbing, exacerbating the extensional cracks. Analyzed through various methods, the peak unloading strength in true-triaxial conditions exhibits an initial increase followed by a decrease with increasing σ2.
