The challenges of androgen insensitivity syndrome

Bratu Ovidiu et al.

Summary: Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is a genetic disorder caused by mutations in the androgen receptor gene. It affects the normal masculinization process in chromosomal males. AIS can be classified into complete, partial, and mild types, each with different clinical features. Diagnosis and management of AIS require a multidisciplinary approach to address challenges in sex assignment, fertility, and psychological well-being.
