Surrogate models of thermally cracked hydrocarbon fuels at typical pyrolysis temperatures

Dingrui Zhang et al.

Summary: Construction of surrogate fuel models for thermally cracked fuels is essential for understanding combustion characteristics. This study developed a method to create surrogate models for thermally cracked fuels based on separate consideration of pyrolysis gas and liquid. Experimental results showed that the surrogate models accurately predicted laminar burning velocities by combining characteristics of both pyrolysis gases and liquids.
