A critical review on available models to predict engine fuel properties of biodiesel

Kiran Raj Bukkarapu et al.

Summary: This review critically analyzes the approaches and models available in the literature to predict biodiesel properties. It discusses the advantages, limitations, and reported deviations of these models, as well as the number of data points used for calibration and validation. The review also addresses the need for accurate models to predict biodiesel flashpoint temperature and oxidative stability, as well as the limitations in existing literature.

Finite-size effects of diffusion coefficients computed from molecular dynamics: a review of what we have learned so far

Alper T. Celebi et al.

Summary: The article provides a comprehensive review of the finite-size effects on diffusion coefficients in Molecular Dynamics simulations, covering self-, Maxwell-Stefan, and Fick diffusion coefficients in pure liquids and mixtures, and discussing both analytical and empirical finite-size corrections. The finite-size effects of rotational and confined diffusion are briefly mentioned as well.

Sub-to-supercritical properties and inhomogeneity of JP-10 using molecular dynamics simulation

Yutong Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that the OPLS forcefield achieved the best results in predicting density, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and critical parameters of JP-10 within the pressure and temperature ranges studied, with fewer errors in the transcritical region. In addition, the local density augmentation trend of supercritical JP-10 was explored by evaluating the local density enhancement factor under various conditions.

Effects of paraffin, fatty acid and long alkyl chain phenol on the solidification of n-hexadecane under harsh subcooling condition: A molecular dynamics simulation study

Guilherme C. Q. da Silva et al.

Summary: The research found that the presence of fatty acids and phenols can affect the fraction of alkane molecules in solid nuclei and the molecular organization patterns during the formation of solid-like structures of n-alkanes.

Molecular dynamics study on viscosities of sub/supercritical n-decane, n-undecane and n-dodecane

Xueming Yang et al.

Summary: This study utilized molecular dynamics simulations to calculate the viscosities of several alkanes, showing good agreement with reference data. By studying at the molecular level, a better understanding of the viscosity characteristics of alkanes was obtained, with significant underestimation of viscosity values by two models discovered.
