SERS Sensors Based on Aptamer-Gated Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles for Quantitative Detection of Staphylococcus aureus with Signal Molecular Release

Summary: This work presents a simple and novel biosensor for the quantitative determination of Staphylococcus aureus using aptamer-gated aminated mesoporous silica nanoparticles and surface-enhanced Raman scattering technology. Silver-Graphene Oxide Nanohybrids for Highly Sensitive, Stable SERS Platforms

Summary: Graphene oxide-silver nanoparticle nanohybrids were synthesized by reducing silver nitrate and graphene oxide mixture in water with ascorbic acid as the reducing agent. The concentration of ascorbic acid was varied to study its impact on the efficiency of the hybrids for SERS. Conditioned in ammonia or potassium hydroxide solutions, the composites showed different SERS properties. The sample treated with KOH exhibited the best SERS enhancement, which was correlated with the UV-Vis characteristics and surface structure of the composites.
