Fluorescence detection of malachite green in fish tissue using red emissive Se,N,Cl-doped carbon dots

Yaoping Hu et al.

Summary: A novel fluorescent probe, red emissive Se,N,Cl-doped carbon dots (CDs), was designed for the accurate detection of malachite green (MG) in aquaculture. The probe exhibits high quantum yield and low detection limit, with a selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor established based on inner filter effect. Trace-level analysis of MG in fish tissue was successfully explored, demonstrating the great potential of the sensor for MG monitoring in aquatic products.

Highly sensitive colorimetric determination of nitrite based on the selective etching of concave gold nanocubes

Su-Jin Yoon et al.

Summary: Concave gold nanocubes are used as optical nanoprobes for the determination of nitrite ions by measuring localized surface plasmon resonance absorption, where the blue-shifted color change after selective etching provides a rapid assessment of concentration. The method showed high selectivity and sensitivity in detecting nitrite ions under different conditions, and has been successfully applied to various water and food samples.

Synthesis of fluorescent terbium-based metal-organic framework for quantitative detection of nitrite and ferric ions in water samples

Xiupei Yang et al.

Summary: A novel two-dimensional terbium-based metal-organic framework (Tb-MOF) with strong fluorescence was synthesized through a solvothermal reaction, and its morphology, structure, and optical properties were characterized. The Tb-MOF showed fluorescence sensing capability for nitrite and ferric ions, as well as good chemical stability in different environments. Additionally, a detection method for nitrite and iron ions based on fluorescence quenching of Tb-MOF was established, providing a reliable new method for detecting their concentrations in actual water samples.

Preparation of N/S doped carbon dots and their application in nitrite detection

Yafeng Deng et al.

Summary: The blue-green fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) synthesized in this study showed high sensitivity and selectivity for detecting nitrites, with a low detection limit of 0.03 mM in water. The sulfuric acid group and aromatic primary ammonia groups on the surfaces of CDs interacted with nitrites to cause fluorescence quenching, providing a new way of monitoring nitrites in target samples.

Au nanoparticle-loaded eggshell for electrochemical detection of nitrite

Qi Ding et al.

Summary: Eggshell waste is a large domestic waste source with significant scientific research potential. In this study, an economical and environmentally friendly method was proposed to synthesize Au nanoparticle loaded eggshell nanocomposites for the detection of trace amounts of nitrite in oolong tea. The strategy of turning waste into treasure not only provides a practical method for the comprehensive utilization of eggshells as valuable functional materials, but also offers a new approach for sensitive detection of pollutants.
