Identification of microRNAs in Silver Carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) Response to Hypoxia Stress

Qiaoxin Wang et al.

Summary: Hypoxia stress is a serious issue in fish culture, causing physical and morphological changes, injury, and even death to fish. In this study, differentially expressed miRNAs in silver carp under hypoxia stress were identified through high-throughput sequencing, providing valuable resources for further research on the regulatory mechanism of miRNAs in silver carp under hypoxia stress.

Molecular characterization, expression, and H2O2 induction of p53 and mdm2 in the ricefield eel, Monopterus albus

Zhi He et al.

Summary: P53 and Mdm2 play important roles in preventing uncontrolled apoptosis in various cell types. In Monopterus albus, p53 and mdm2 were found to be mainly expressed in the ovary, with expression levels changing during gonadal development and natural sex change. The sequence similarity of Mdm2 in M. albus to Lates calcarifer was high, while the p53 sequences of Neoteleostei, including M. albus, were different from those of Euteleostei and other vertebrates.
