Experimental and numerical study of pool fire dynamics in an air-tight compartment focusing on pressure variation

Junyi Li et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the fire-induced pressure evolution in an air-tight compartment using two different sizes of square methanol pool fires. The pressure inside the compartment reaches peak values during the growth phase of the fire, with simulated leakage flow rates depending on pressure variation and settings. The pressure rises rapidly initially due to increased heat release, but gradually decreases as heat losses mount.
