Clinical utility of mild cognitive impairment subtypes and number of impaired cognitive domains at predicting progression to dementia: A 20-year retrospective study

Kevin Glynn et al.

Summary: The study found that approximately 32% of individuals diagnosed with MCI in a memory clinic progressed to dementia, with a median time to progression of 2 years. Those with amnestic MCI were almost twice as likely to progress to dementia compared to non-amnestic MCI, making this a useful distinction. However, the utility of the single- and multi-domain MCI distinction was questioned by the findings.

Sex differences in brain aging among adults with family history of Alzheimer's disease and APOE4 genetic risk

Sivaniya Subramaniapillai et al.

Summary: The study found that women with AD risk factors experience greater brain aging than men, and higher BMI may help reduce brain aging in women but not in men. Additionally, physical activity is more beneficial for men's brain aging than women's in those with certain risk factors.
