Progressive supranuclear palsy: Neuropathology of patients with a short disease duration due to unexpected death

Lu Zhang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the clinical and neuropathological features of five PSP patients, revealing evident neuronal loss in various brain regions and widespread distribution of tau lesions. The findings suggest that in PSP, initial signs/symptoms are related to neuronal degeneration and tau deposition, and tau deposition in neuronal cells is independent of that in glial cells.
