Rebecca L. Bromley et al.

Summary: Research on the effects of exposure to antiseizure medications during pregnancy has been ongoing for a long time, but more data is needed for conclusions on the impact of drugs other than valproate. Current focus is mainly on phenobarbital, phenytoin, and lamotrigine, with limited data available for levetiracetam, topiramate, and oxcarbazepine. Psychological, educational, and alternative interventions for reducing fear of childbirth in pregnant women: A systematic review

Angel Aguilera-Martin et al.

Summary: This review identifies 18 studies suggesting that prenatal education, psychoeducation, and counseling may be effective in reducing fear of childbirth, while relaxation techniques show contradictory results. Social support and exposure through education may play an important role in the efficacy of interventions. More appropriately randomized and blinded trials are needed to further investigate non-medical interventions for reducing fear of childbirth.
