Can the green credit policy stimulate green innovation in heavily polluting enterprises? Evidence from a quasi-natural experiment in China

Guoqiang Hu et al.

Summary: The study finds that the 2012 Green Credit Guidelines have positively impacted green patent output of heavily polluting enterprises, particularly those with stronger financial constraints. The effect is more pronounced in HPEs with higher expected sunk costs or noncompliance costs, intense product market competition, and state ownership. These results suggest that the Green Credit Policy can promote green innovation in HPEs by imposing credit constraints, facilitating green transformation in an emerging economy.

A technological innovation and economic progress enhancement: an assessment of sustainable economic and environmental management

Wu Hao et al.

Summary: This study explores the role of technological innovation and economic progress in reducing environmental pollution in developing Asian countries. The results show the existence of an Environmental Kuznets Curve relationship in these countries, indicating that technological development and innovation have the potential to decrease carbon emissions and protect the environment. Additionally, the error correction model suggests that in case of external shocks, the model will converge towards equilibrium within 64.6 years.

Renewable energy technological innovation, market forces, and carbon emission efficiency

Aiping He et al.

Summary: Renewable energy technological innovation (RETI) plays a positive role in improving carbon emission efficiency, but is influenced by market factors; reducing market segmentation or increasing market potential significantly enhances the improvement effect of RETI on the total factor carbon performance index; there is a certain relationship between market segmentation, market potential, and carbon performance index, with increasing market potential contributing to the enhancement of carbon performance index.

The policy effect of green finance in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading efficiency in China: analysis from the perspective of government regulation and public environmental demands

Beibei Gu et al.

Summary: The impact of green finance on the efficiency of industrial transformation and upgrading shows high overall efficiency but a decreasing trend, possibly due to unbalanced development of the green financial system, information asymmetry, and lack of enterprise regulation. Public environmental demands and input government regulations have significant synergistic governance advantages in promoting efficiency, indicating a need for the government to enhance regulatory intensity.

Research on the impact of green finance on the upgrading of China's regional industrial structure from the perspective of sustainable development

Xinyue Wang et al.

Summary: Green finance is a mechanism to provide financial support for green projects, promote technological progress, and facilitate sustainable development of the economy. The study found that the correlation between green finance and output value is highest in the tertiary industry, indicating its strong impact on industrial structure upgrading. Enhancing factors like human capital, R&D innovation capability, and government expenditure level can significantly promote the upgrading of industrial structure.
