High bioremediation potential of strainChenggangzhangella methanolivoransCHL1 for soil polluted with metsulfuron-methyl or tribenuron-methyl in a pot experiment

Ting-Ting Yang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the strain CHL1 can efficiently degrade metsulfuron-methyl and tribenuron-methyl in soil, reducing their negative effects on waxy maize growth and soil microbial community. This indicates the great potential of strain CHL1 in remediating soil contaminated with these herbicides.

Evaluating the effect of fluoxetine on mesophilic anaerobic dark biohydrogen fermentation of excess sludge

Ying Gao et al.

Summary: Fluoxetine inhibits biohydrogen production in anaerobic dark fermentation, even at low concentrations. High levels of fluoxetine reduce every step associated with biohydrogen production, including decreasing concentrations of ammonia nitrogen and phosphate and having a significant negative effect on enzyme activity.

Isolation of 2 simazine-degrading bacteria and development of a microbial agent for bioremediation of simazine pollution

Jiangwei Zhu et al.

Summary: Simazine, a commonly used herbicide, has caused public concern for its high ecological toxicity. In this study, two strains capable of degrading simazine, SIMA-N5 and SIMA-N9, were isolated from soil. SIMA-N9 showed a degradation efficiency of 98% for simazine in 5 days, indicating its potential for bioremediation of simazine pollution.
