Therapeutic effect of dithiophenolato chitosan nanocomposites against carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatotoxicity in rats

Nadia Z. Shaban et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that DTP and DTP-CSNPs can reduce liver injuries induced by CCl4, improve liver function, combat oxidative stress and apoptosis, and exhibit anticancer activity against the HepG2 cell line. DTP-CSNPs show better performance in treatment.

A Titanium (IV)-Dithiophenolate Complex and Its Chitosan Nanocomposite: Their Roles towards Rat Liver Injuries In Vivo and against Human Liver Cancer Cell Lines

Nadia Z. Shaban et al.

Summary: Titanium (IV)-dithiophenolate complex chitosan nanocomposites (DBT-CSNPs) exhibit antibacterial activities, cytotoxicity, and the ability to bind with DNA helixes. In this study, their therapeutic effects against rat liver damage induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and their anti-proliferative activity against human liver cancer (HepG2) cell lines were investigated. Results showed that DBT-CSNPs and DBT effectively treated liver damage and inhibited HepG2 cell proliferation, with DBT-CSNPs showing greater efficiency. Both compounds had no adverse effects on healthy rats and outperformed cisplatin in treatment outcomes.

Synergistic protective effect of Betavulgaris with meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid against lead-induced neurotoxicity in male rats

Nadia Z. Shaban et al.

Summary: Betavulgaris juice (BVJ) exhibited a protective effect against lead-induced neurotoxicity by reducing lead levels in blood and brain, decreasing oxidative stress, inflammation, and cell death. The combination of BVJ and DMSA showed a synergistic effect in reducing neurotoxicity induced by lead.
