Facile preparation of MoS2@Kaolin composite by one-step hydrothermal method for efficient removal of Pb(II)

Weiquan Yuan et al.

Summary: MoS2@Kaolin composite material shows efficient, rapid, and highly selective adsorption of Pb(II). The adsorption process follows the Langmuir isotherm model with a maximum adsorption capacity of 280.39 mg/g. Additionally, the adsorption kinetics of MoS2@Kaolin to Pb(II) fits well with the pseudo-second-order kinetics models.

High-efficiency photo-Fenton Fe/g-C3N4/kaolinite catalyst for tetracycline hydrochloride degradation

Zhou Cao et al.

Summary: A Fe/graphitic carbon nitride/kaolinite composite photocatalyst was successfully prepared for the first time and showed high degradation efficiency for TCH in the photo-Fenton system. Free radical scavenging experiments confirmed that hydroxyl radicals were the main active substances. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the composite can be attributed to the large specific surface area of kaolinite and Fe acting as a photo-generated electron acceptor.

Effect of acid activation on structural evolution and surface charge of different derived kaolinites

Yi Zhou et al.

Summary: Acid activation plays a crucial role in modifying the microstructure and surface properties of clay minerals, gradually expanding the interlayer distance and maintaining the skeletal structure and functional groups. The process has little effect on dehydroxylation temperature but a significant impact on the transformation temperature, with stronger protonation and deprotonation reactions observed in coal-bearing kaolinite.

Sustainable detection and capturing of cerium(III) using ligand embedded solid-state conjugate adsorbent

Khadiza Tul Kubra et al.

Summary: The study systematically investigated the detection, adsorption, and recovery of cerium (Ce(III)) on a ligand-based optical conjugate adsorbent with high sensitivity and selectivity. Optimal experimental conditions were determined, and the adsorbent exhibited a high adsorption capacity for Ce(III) ions and maintained selectivity even after regeneration. The proposed conjugate adsorbent offers a cost-effective solution for effectively detecting, capturing, and recovering Ce(III) ions from wastewater samples.
