Multiple water source use in low- and middle-income countries: a systematic review

Sean Daly et al.

Summary: The systematic review found that many households in low- and middle-income countries tend to rely on multiple water sources to meet their drinking water needs, also accessing unimproved sources throughout the year. This exposes gaps in current global water monitoring efforts, potentially inflating reports of 'safe drinking water access' and unaccounted exposure to drinking water from unimproved sources.
