Summary: This paper investigates the decolorization of dye wastewaters and electricity generation using dual-chamber microbial fuel cells (MFCs) with titanium dioxide nanowire (TiO2 NW) photocathodes. The photocatalysis of TiO2 NWs accelerates the reduction process of azo dye AR 30, achieving a maximum degradation rate of 78.1% with the assistance of photoelectrons.
