One-pot hydrothermal fabrication of BiVO4/Fe3O4/rGO composite photocatalyst for the simulated solar light-driven degradation of Rhodamine B

Shuangyang Zhao et al.

Summary: A novel ternary magnetic photocatalyst BiVO4/Fe3O4/reduced graphene oxide (BiVO4/Fe3O4/rGO) with excellent photocatalytic activity for degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater was synthesized in this study. The composite catalyst exhibited superior dye removal efficiency and could be easily separated and recycled with retained high photocatalytic activity.

Rational design of α-Fe2O3 nanocubes supported BiVO4 Z-scheme photocatalyst for photocatalytic degradation of antibiotic under visible light

Changchang Ma et al.

Summary: The Z-scheme BiVO4/alpha-Fe2O3 photocatalyst, synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method, showed improved photocatalytic activity in the photodegradation of tetracycline hydrochloride compared to pure BiVO4 and alpha-Fe2O3 nanocubes under visible light irradiation. The study revealed that the formation of a Z-scheme heterojunction between BiVO4 and alpha-Fe2O3 increased the specific surface area and promoted the separation of photoinduced carriers, leading to enhanced photocatalytic performance.

Effect of exposed facets of bismuth vanadate, controlled by ethanolamine, on oxidative coupling of primary amines

Sadanan Boochakiat et al.

Summary: This work demonstrates the ETA-assisted hydrothermal synthesis of BiVO4 and its performance in photocatalytic oxidative coupling reactions; {110}-dominant BiVO4 shows outstanding photocatalytic activity at room temperature; the catalyst can efficiently convert benzylamine derivatives to imines with high selectivity, and the exposure of crystal facets plays a crucial role in the activity.

Mechanism of Incorporation of Zirconium into BiVO4 Visible-Light Photocatalyst

Imane Abdellaoui et al.

Summary: The study found that Zr doping into BiVO4 crystal can significantly enhance its photocatalytic activity at an appropriate doping level, but high doping can result in the formation of mixed-phase crystals, leading to decreased activity.
