Interpretable and Efficient Heterogeneous Graph Convolutional Network

Yaming Yang et al.

Summary: Proposed an interpretable and efficient Heterogeneous Graph Convolutional Network (ie-HGCN) to learn representations of objects in HINs. The network utilizes a hierarchical aggregation architecture, which automatically evaluates all possible meta-paths and exploits the most useful ones for each target object. It also reduces computational complexity by avoiding additional time-consuming pre-processing operations.

LDGRNMF: LncRNA-disease associations prediction based on graph regularized non-negative matrix factorization

Mei-Neng Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a new computational approach LDGRNMF was developed to predict lncRNA-disease associations, considering similarity calculation based on Gaussian interaction profile kernel and disease semantic information, as well as nearest known neighbor interaction profiles weighting to reconstruct association matrix. LDGRNMF outperformed other methods with an AUC of 0.8985 in cross-validation experiments, and showed high accuracy in predicting potential associations in case studies for stomach cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer.

Predicting drug-disease associations through layer attention graph convolutional network

Zhouxin Yu et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a novel computational method LAGCN for predicting drug-disease associations, which outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods. By integrating embeddings from multiple graph convolution layers and combining them using the attention mechanism, LAGCN achieves efficient drug-disease association prediction.

A novel deep quantile matrix completion model for top-N recommendation

Mingming Yang et al.

Summary: Matrix completion models have traditionally assumed symmetric noise distribution, leading to noticeable bias towards outliers. This paper introduces a novel Deep Quantile Matrix Completion model, DQMC, which accurately captures noise distribution by modeling conditional quantiles of a data set. The proposed model outperforms state-of-the-art recommendation algorithms in conducting top-N recommendation tasks.
