Effects of lateral differential settlement of the subgrade on deformation behavior and damage evolution of CRTS II slab track

Xuhao Cui et al.

Summary: The study reveals that under conditions of large settlement amplitudes and short settlement wavelengths, the track structure is in a suspended state, with the track structure on the side with larger settlement amplitude more unfavorably affected.

Interface damage and arching mechanism of CRTS II slab track under temperature load

Xuhao Cui et al.

Summary: The study investigates the interface damage and arching deformation of CRTS II slab track under high-temperature conditions. Joint concrete damage is identified as the main factor leading to interface damage and arching, with higher levels of joint concrete damage resulting in increased interface damage area and gap height, especially under overall temperature rise. More attention is needed on the construction quality and maintenance of joint concrete.

Mechanical Performance of a Ballastless Track System for the Railway Bridges of High-Speed Lines: Experimental and Numerical Study under Thermal Loading

Yingying Zhang et al.

Summary: This project investigated the mechanical performance of China Railway Track System type II (CRTS II) ballastless track suitable for High-Speed Railway (HSR) bridges by testing a scaled-down specimen under thermal loading. Both experimental and numerical stress analysis were performed to study the nonlinear increase of strains with temperature and the relative displacements in different sections of the track structure. The results suggest that quantifying stresses and evaluating displacements resulting from temperature changes are important for designing ballastless track structures for high-speed railway lines.
