Barriers and potential solutions to the diffusion of solar photovoltaics from the public-private-people partnership perspective - Case study of Norway

Yan Xue et al.

Summary: Norway is a major renewable energy developer in Europe, with a focus on hydropower, but research shows that solar energy also has potential. However, barriers to diffusion of photovoltaics in Norway include high initial costs and limited awareness of benefits. Public-private-people partnerships have the potential to overcome these barriers and create new incentives in the country.

In fl uence mechanism of subsidy policy on household photovoltaic purchase intention under an urban-rural divide in China

Xiaozhen Wang et al.

Summary: This study finds that psychological distance mediates the impact of subsidy policy on purchase intentions, and risk tolerance plays a significant moderating role. Analysis shows that rural residents pay more attention to subsidy benefits, but their low income, risk tolerance, and price sensitivity limit effective diffusion of household PV products in rural areas. Urban residents, on the other hand, are more aware of policy publicity but have lower purchase intentions due to installation constraints.

Barriers to the adoption of electric vehicles: Evidence from India

Pradeep Kumar Tarei et al.

Summary: The growing global concern over climate change caused by vehicular greenhouse gas emissions is driving economies towards adopting alternate fuel technology, including electric vehicles (EV). Despite favorable policy measures, the mutual interaction of potential barriers has hindered EV penetration. Research shows that barriers such as performance, cost, charging infrastructure, and consumer awareness are critical in driving EV adoption.
