Nitrogen self-doped activated carbons with narrow pore size distribution from bamboo shoot shells

Qi Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen self-doped and microporous-rich activated carbons (BNACs) were prepared from bamboo shoot shells using KHCO3 at various temperatures. The activation temperature was found to significantly influence the pore structure, nitrogen groups, and electrochemical properties of the BNACs. The BNACs activated at 700 degrees C showed the highest microporosity, nitrogen content, and capacitance values, demonstrating their potential for various applications.

An appropriate acid leaching sequence in rice husk ash extraction to enhance the produced green silica quality for sustainable industrial silica gel purpose

Soen Steven et al.

Summary: The study investigated the impact of different acid leaching sequences on the purity and surface area of green silica extracted from rice husk ash. The results showed that the silica obtained from the T1 sequence had higher purity and surface area, making it suitable for industrial silica gel as a moisture adsorber.

Synergistic effect of the cotton stalk and high-ash coal on gas production during co-pyrolysis/gasification

Panbo Yang et al.

Summary: The study found that the synergistic effect between cotton stalk and high-ash coal in copyrolysis/gasification processes can be enhanced by heating to 950 degrees Celsius to increase gas production. There is a linear relationship between the gas yield during copyrolysis and the mixing ratio of cotton stalk, indicating almost no interaction between the two. The addition of steam can enhance the catalytic effect of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals in cotton stalk during cogasification, while the synergistic effect is reduced as the blending ratio of cotton stalk increases.
