Does eco-innovation promote cleaner energy? Analyzing the role of energy price and human capital

Yongming Huang et al.

Summary: The study examines the impact of eco-innovation, human capital, and trade openness on energy consumption in OECD countries. The results indicate that eco-innovation, human capital, and energy price have a positive effect on increasing renewable energy consumption, while economic growth and trade openness still drive non-renewable energy consumption in the region.

Non-amide based zwitterionic poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate)s as kinetic hydrate inhibitors

Qian Zhang et al.

Summary: The use of zwitterionic polymers as kinetic hydrate inhibitors (KHIs) in gas and oil industry has shown promising results, with the key performance parameter being the length of the alkyl chain on the monomer unit side chains. Copolymers of the zwitterionic monomers and NIPMAM exhibit better increase in KHI performance with increasing concentration, suggesting the importance of strong hydrogen-bonding groups for high KHI performance.

Inhibition effects of poly(N-vinylcaprolactam)/poly(ε-caprolactone) amphiphilic block copolymers on methane hydrate formation

Li Wan et al.

Summary: Amphiphilic block copolymers (PVCap-b-PCL) containing different ratio of PCL and PVCap were synthesized and showed better performance than PVCap in methane hydrate inhibition experiments, providing longer induction time. These copolymers have potential as environmentally friendly hydrate inhibitors by adjusting the ratio of PCL to PVCap.
