Re-invent Yourself! How Demands for Innovativeness Reshape Epistemic Practices

Summary: This paper examines the increasing demand in the research field for innovation and points out the potential hindrance caused by neoliberal governance. The study shows that valuations of innovativeness often clash with other regimes of valuation, creating a complicated situation for researchers. The prevailing emphasis on innovativeness seems to be short-sighted and may reshape epistemic practices in problematic ways.
