Simple and effective synthesis of zinc ferrite nanoparticle immobilized by reduced graphene oxide as anode for lithium-ion batteries

Binghui Xu et al.

Summary: An effective method to synthesize zinc ferrite nanoparticles and prepare ZnFe2O4/RGO composite has been developed. The composite electrode shows excellent lithium-ion storage performance, with high reversible capacity and long cycle life, attributed to its well-designed structure and electrochemical behavior.

Redistributing Li-ion flux and homogenizing Li-metal growth by N-doped hierarchically porous membranes for dendrite-free Lithium metal batteries

Xiangcun Li et al.

Summary: A scalable N-doped hierarchically porous membrane with significant porosity has been reported as a protective interlayer for Li metal batteries, reducing safety hazards caused by lithium dendrites. The membrane features interconnected porous networks with carbon nanotubes as cores and N-doped carbon coating as crosslinked shells, allowing uniform distribution of Li+ ions and rapid diffusion of Li ions, leading to high Coulombic efficiency and dendrite-free morphology even after 500 hours of repeated Li plating/stripping processes. The protected Li anode exhibits excellent cycling stability in full cell batteries, with a low capacity decay rate of 0.03% per cycle.

Metal-organic framework derived Fe3O4/C/rGO composite as an anode material in lithium-ion batteries

Rong Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a Fe-based (Fe3O4/C/rGO) composite was successfully synthesized using Fe-based metal-organic framework (MIL-88A) and reduced grapheme oxide (rGO), improving electronic conductivity and structural stability, resulting in enhanced lithium storage performance. This work may also be extended to research on other advanced electrode materials.

Defective graphene coating-induced exposed interfaces on CoS nanosheets for high redox electrocatalysis in lithium-sulfur batteries

Jiao Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, a sandwich-structured host with 3D catalysis-conduction interfaces is proposed. The architecture enables fast electron and Li+ diffusion, strong adsorption of S/Li2Sx, and high-efficiency conversion. Experimental and theoretical characterization reveals that although graphene coating shields the activity of CoS nanosheets, exposed interfaces at defective sites exhibit strong LiPSs anchoring and high conversion efficiency.
