Ni diffusion in vertical growth of MoS2 nanosheets on carbon nanotubes towards highly efficient hydrogen evolution

Xiao Zhang et al.

Summary: The study investigates the impact of transition metal particle size and distribution on the catalytic performance of carbon nanotubes-based catalysts, revealing that N-doped CNTs with optimized Ni and MoS2 loading exhibit high activity and stability for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The findings provide insights for the rational design and fabrication of high-performance non-precious transition metal based HER electrocatalysts.

Self-standing MoS2/CNT and MnO2/CNT one dimensional core shell heterostructures for asymmetric supercapacitor applications

Pranjala Tiwari et al.

Summary: The hydrophilicity of electrodes and minimal resistive losses are crucial for designing an efficient asymmetric supercapacitor for aqueous systems. MnO2 and MoS2 thin film based heterostructures fabricated onto carbon nanotube sheets meet these conditions and offer high performance. The scalable manufacturing technique involving a unique combination of chemical and physical deposition techniques gives hierarchical core-shell heterostructure with high coulombic efficiency.

MoS2 Nanosheet-Polypyrrole Composites Deposited on Reduced Graphene Oxide for Supercapacitor Applications

Jin Hao et al.

Summary: A vertically aligned MoS2 nanosheet-polypyrrole composite on reduced oxygen graphene was fabricated using a one-step hydrothermal strategy (MP-rGO). The MoS2 nanosheets mixed with PPy lamellas were well coated on the surface of rGO to form a ternary nanostructure via a redox reaction. The resulting MP-rGO electrode exhibited high specific capacitance and cycling stability, suggesting potential application in energy storage.
