Assessing the potential of soil erosion in Kyrgyzstan based on RUSLE, integrated with remote sensing

Summary: The study in Kyrgyzstan identified the potential of soil erosion and estimated the total soil loss rate using the RUSLE model with remote sensing. The results showed that the country has an average annual soil erosion amount of 5.95 t ha(-1) year(-1), with an annual soil loss of 113.7 x 10(6) t year(-1). The study provides suitable tools for identifying priority areas to decrease soil erosion risk and valuable implementations for assessing soil loss and protecting the environment.
