Donor-Acceptor Type Polymer Bearing Carbazole Side Chain for Efficient Dopant-Free Perovskite Solar Cells

Guofeng You et al.

Summary: A new copolymer PBDB-Cz with carbazole as the conjugated side chain of BDT has been developed for perovskite solar cells, showing excellent hole transport properties and a promising power conversion efficiency of 22.06%. The incorporation of carbazole improves the coplanarity and interaction of the polymer chains, as well as the hole mobility of the polymeric HTM, leading to enhanced device stability with over 90% of initial PCE retention after 100 days of ambient storage.

A sulfur-rich small molecule as a bifunctional interfacial layer for stable perovskite solar cells with efficiencies exceeding 22%

Ming-Hua Li et al.

Summary: A sulfur-rich two-dimensional small molecule, SMe-TATPyr, was reported as a bifunctional layer to efficiently improve the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells. The power conversion efficiency of PSCs was distinctly increased from 20.4% to 22.3%, and the stability of unencapsulated PSCs was enhanced to retain 95% of the initial efficiency after storage for 1500 hours.

Dopant-free hole transporting polymeric materials based on pyrroloindacenodithiophene donor unit for efficient perovskite solar cells

Chunyuan Lu et al.

Summary: New polymeric HTMs (SGT-512 and SGT-513) were designed and synthesized by regulating the electron withdrawing ability of the acceptor part and promoting molecular orbital hybridization in the donor part to obtain a narrower bandgap polymer. This resulted in higher intrinsic hole mobility and film-formation ability, leading to improved power conversion efficiency (PCE) in perovskite solar cells.

Design of small molecular hole-transporting materials for stable and high-performance perovskite solar cells

Jiang-Yang Shao et al.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells have achieved high power conversion efficiencies, with the development of highly efficient small molecular hole-transporting materials playing a crucial role. Research has focused on alternative materials to address cost and stability issues associated with commonly used materials like spiro-OMeTAD. Structural features of small molecule hole-transporting materials, such as spiro molecules with new terminal groups, star-shaped materials, and linear materials, have shown promise for enhancing device performance in perovskite solar cells. Future developments will continue to explore novel hole-transporting materials to advance the commercialization of perovskite solar cells.
