Long-term neurotoxicity and quality of life in testicular cancer survivors-a nationwide cohort study

Jakob Lauritsen et al.

Summary: This study evaluated neurotoxicity in testicular cancer survivors (TCSs) years after treatment and its impact on quality-of-life (QoL). Results showed that treatment with BEP was associated with long-term neurotoxicity and decreased QoL, while radiotherapy and surveillance were not associated with neurotoxicity.

Cryotherapy for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy: A systematic review

Andrea G. Bailey et al.

Summary: The efficacy of cryotherapy in preventing CIPN is conflicting due to varying administration methods, study design, and sample sizes. Cryotherapy with taxane-based chemotherapy treatments was well-tolerated with no serious adverse effects noted. Further research, including larger, better designed studies, is needed to fully understand the role of cryotherapy for CIPN.

The effects of exercise on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy symptoms in cancer patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Wen-Li Lin et al.

Summary: The systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrated that exercise interventions significantly improved CIPN symptoms in cancer patients. A combination of nerve gliding exercise intervention and sensorimotor-based exercise intervention were found to be effective in improving CIPN symptoms.

Randomized Trial of Scrambler Therapy for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy: Crossover Analysis

Daniel S. Childs et al.

Summary: Preliminary trials suggest that Scrambler Therapy may improve discomfort from chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. This randomized controlled trial found that Scrambler therapy was more effective than TENS in alleviating pain and improving neuropathy symptoms. Further evaluation in a larger, randomized controlled trial is warranted to confirm these findings.

Mona M. Al Onazi et al.

Summary: This proof-of-concept trial aimed to explore the clinical benefit of therapeutic ultrasound for pain and sensory disturbance in colorectal cancer patients, showing a significant improvement in symptoms with the addition of therapeutic ultrasound to standard care. However, no significant difference between the groups was found in the long-term follow-up.
