Textile reinforced concrete is a new construction material. This study investigates the flexural behavior of TRC samples by using braided hybrid yarn, and finds that the flexural strength and toughness increase with the use of hybrid yarn.
Textile reinforced concrete (TRC) is a new construction material. The braiding method was used in this study as a new approach to obtain hybrid yarn for TRC production. It is aimed to investigate the effect of the reinforcement types, textile structure types, and distance of textile structures from the concrete bottom on the flexural behavior of TRC samples. It was observed that the flexural strength and toughness increase by approximately 19% and 143%, respectively, with the use of hybrid yarn. The thermoplastic material on the hybrid yarn increased the strength of the structure by protecting the reinforcement materials.
