Cytogenetic markers using single-sequence probes reveal chromosomal locations of tandemly repetitive genes in scleractinian coral Acropora pruinosa

Joshua Vacarizas et al.

Summary: This study successfully identified specific chromosomes of Acropora pruinosa using short single-sequence probes, providing a new method for karyotyping. The 5S rDNA and core histone probes showed intense signals in fluorescence in situ hybridization, effectively distinguishing chromosome pairs.
