Particle burning behaviors of Al/AP propellant with high-speed digital off-axis holography

Yingchun Wu et al.

Summary: The behavior of aluminum particles during Al/AP propellant combustion is studied using high-speed digital off-axis holography and high-speed microscopic imaging. Off-axis holography suppresses the effects of the enveloping flame, achieving better burning particle imaging. Three-dimensional dynamics of the aluminum particles from a series of time-resolved holograms are analyzed to study the motion behaviors of the particles during combustion.

Clustering-based particle detection method for digital holography to detect the three-dimensional location and in-plane size of particles

Jianqing Huang et al.

Summary: This article introduces a new clustering-based particle detection method for digital holography, the first time clustering algorithms have been applied in this field. The feasibility of the method was confirmed through simulations and experiments, showing improved accuracy in measuring particle positions and displacements compared to conventional methods.

Quantification of the size, 3D location and velocity of burning iron particles in premixed methane flames using high-speed digital in-line holography

Jianqin Huang et al.

Summary: The combustion behavior of iron particles was quantitatively characterized using high-speed digital in-line holography, showing that the ejection speed of iron particles increases with the oxygen concentration, leading to non-uniform spatial distribution and reduced particle number density.

Synergetic combustion behavior of aluminum and coal addition in hybrid iron-methane-air premixed flames

Yueh-Heng Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the combustion behaviors of pure iron and mixed particles, particularly iron-aluminum and iron-coal mixtures doped into methane-air premixed flames. Different particles showed varying effects on the flame, with microexplosions occurring in the iron-coal mixture.
