Enhanced Sensitive Electrochemical Sensor for Simultaneous Catechol and Hydroquinone Detection by Using Ultrasmall Ternary Pt-based Nanomaterial

Muhammad Arsalan et al.

Summary: A simple and effective method for synthesizing Pt-based nanoparticles was presented, showing high efficiency in the process. The novel catalyst prepared by depositing a ternary metal complex on fluorine-doped tin-oxide (FTO) displayed good electro-oxidation activity for hydroquinone and catechol. The nanomaterials were characterized and their electrochemical performance was studied, with promising results for simultaneous detection of catechol and hydroquinone in real samples.

Electrochemical sensor based on Ce-MOF/carbon nanotube composite for the simultaneous discrimination of hydroquinone and catechol

Haiping Huang et al.

Summary: Ce-MOF/CNTs nanocomposites were prepared by a simple method and post-treated with NaOH/H2O2 mixed solution. The morphology and structure of the treated samples were characterized by various techniques, and the results showed a morphological change in Ce-MOF and the presence of two valence states of Ce3+/Ce4+ in the composite. The nanocomposites were used to fabricate an electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous detection of hydroquinone (HQ) and catechol (CC) with improved performance compared to the untreated samples.
