Frictional swash hydrodynamics under the improved seaward boundary condition

Jun Zeng et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of the improved seaward boundary conditions on swash zone hydrodynamics with bottom resistance using the method of characteristics. The results show that a large k parameter can postpone the swash flow reversal time and extend the entire swash duration, impacting the function of pressure force and bottom friction. The study confirms that the boundary condition parameter k has a significant impact on swash hydrodynamics under large bottom resistance.
