Comparability of sample results and commutability of reference materials among different measurement procedures for protein C activity assays

Gaofeng Hu et al.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the comparability of protein C activity assays among different measurement procedures (MPs) and the commutability of reference materials (RMs). Through experiments using 92 clinical samples (CS) and six RMs, we found good comparability of CS and good commutability of RMs among the three MPs. Based on the results, we can establish standards for comparability and commutability according to biological variation and quality assessment criteria.

Summary: This study compared the use of plasma-based and serum-based tubes in routine chemistry testing. Plasma may reduce processing time but at the expense of sample stability, while rapid serum gel separator tubes showed the least susceptibility to interference and best stability in storage.
