Summary: This study demonstrates that the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio cutoff of 38 has high predictive performance for short-term prediction of preeclampsia in Chinese women, helping to reduce unnecessary hospitalization for low-risk women.

Prediction of Preeclampsia-Related Adverse Outcomes With the sFlt-1 (Soluble fms-Like Tyrosine Kinase 1)/PlGF (Placental Growth Factor)-Ratio in the Clinical Routine A Real-World Study

Lisa Antonia Droge et al.

Summary: This retrospective real-world study investigated the clinical utility of sFlt-1/PlGF ratio in predicting adverse outcomes in patients with signs and symptoms of preeclampsia. The study found that patients classified as high or intermediate risk based on the ratio were more likely to have adverse outcomes, and combining biomarker measurements with all available clinical information improved detection of adverse outcomes in women with suspected disease.

Impact of new definitions of preeclampsia at term on identification of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes

Jonathan Lai et al.

Summary: This study investigated the ability of different definitions of preeclampsia at termgestational age to identify adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. The findings suggest that a broad definition of preeclampsia, particularly when including angiogenic factors, can better identify women and babies at risk of adverse outcomes compared to traditional definitions. The International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy definition of preeclampsia seems to be more sensitive in identifying maternal end-organ dysfunction.
