In this study, the radiative decays of charmed mesons are systematically estimated using a modified relativistic quark model, and it is found that the branching ratios of several processes are sizable and can be detected experimentally, while the branching ratios of some channels are smaller but may be observable with future experiments.
In this study, we perform systematic estimations of the radiative decays of the charmed mesons in a modified relativistic quark model. Our estimations indicate that the branching ratios of the processes of D-2(0)(1(3)P(2)) -> D*(0)(1(3)S(1))gamma, D-3(0)(1D(3)) -> D-2(0)(1(3)P(2))gamma, D-2(0)(2D(2)') -> D-1(0)(2P(1))gamma, D-3(0)(2(3)D(3)) -> D-2(0)(2(3)P(2))gamma, and D*(0) (1(3)S(1)) -> D-0(1(1)S(0))gamma are of the order of 10(-2), which are sizable to be detected experimentally. Moreover, the branching ratios of some channels, for example, D-1(0)(1P(1)) -> D(1(1)S(0))(0)gamma, D-0(3(1)S(0)) -> D-1'(0)(2P(1)')gamma, and D-0(3(3)S(1)) -> D-2(0)(2(3)P(2))gamma, are estimated to be of the order of 10(-3), which may be accessible with the accumulation of data in future experiments.
