Effect of strain on electrochemical performance of Janus MoSSe monolayer anode material for Li-ion batteries: First-principles study*

Guoqing Wang et al.

Summary: The study conducted first-principles calculations to investigate the effect of strain on the electrochemical performance of Janus MoSSe monolayer. The results showed that tensile strain increases the intercalation potential and Li-ion migration energy barrier, leading to improved rate performance of the MoSSe anode. The physical origin of these changes was attributed to an increase in potential energy surface and a decrease in adsorption distance caused by tensile strain.
