Circularly polarized luminescence based on cholesterol-tetraphenylethylene-perylene liquid crystal

Shengjie Jiang et al.

Summary: A novel cholesterol-tetraphenylethylene-perylene derivative was designed and synthesized, exhibiting good fluorescence emission and circularly polarized luminescence in both solution and aggregated states. The effective chiral transfer from cholesterol unit to tetraphenylethylene unit and perylene skeleton was achieved through spiral liquid crystalline self-assembly.

Seco and Nor-seco Isodhilarane-Type Meroterpenoids from Penicillium purpurogenum and the Configuration Revisions of Related Compounds

Yu-Zhuo Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, the Seco and nor-seco isodhilarane-type meroterpenoids (SIMs and NSIMs) with highly congested polycyclic skeletons and broad bioactivities were investigated. The configuration revisions of some compounds were made through isolation, analysis, and empirical method based on C-13 NMR chemical shifts. Furthermore, a re-evaluation of the reported SIMs and NSIMs provided insights into determining the C-9 relative configuration. Biological assays showed that some compounds exhibited cytotoxic and hepatoprotective activities.

Unusual Magnetic Field Responsive Circularly Polarized Luminescence Probes with Highly Emissive Chiral Europium(III) Complexes

Junhui Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports the design and synthesis of magnetically responsive Circularly Polarized Luminescence (CPL) complexes with exceptional photophysical properties by introducing chiral substituents onto macrocyclic scaffolds. These chiral Eu-III complexes exhibit magnetic CPL responses and show a linear relationship between Δg(lum) and magnetic field strength, providing potential development for CPL imaging applications.

High-Efficiency Circularly Polarized Electroluminescence from TADF-Sensitized Fluorescent Enantiomers

Meng Li et al.

Summary: Fluorescent enantiomers suitable for high-efficiency TADF-sensitized CP-OLEDs have been developed, exhibiting high PLQY, large kr values, and excellent performance characteristics. The resulting TADF-sensitized fluorescent devices show high EQE and low efficiency roll-off, providing a promising perspective for breaking through the EL efficiency limit of CP-FL emitters.

Robust Angular Anisotropy of Circularly Polarized Luminescence from a Single Twisted-Bipolar Polymeric Microsphere

Osamu Oki et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that conjugated polymers with chiral side chains can self-assemble into solid microspheres with a twisted bipolar interior, exhibiting high g(lum) CPL values in methanol. The microspheres can be handled with a microneedle for comprehensive examination of angular anisotropy, revealing that the CPL values in the equatorial plane are 2.5 times higher than those along the polar axis.

Propeller Configuration Flipping of the Trivalent Boron-Inducing Substituent Dependence of the Circularly Polarized Luminescence Sign in Triarylborane-Based [7]Helicenes

Han-Wei Li et al.

Summary: The two newly synthesized triarylborane-based [7]helicenes exhibit doubled vertical bar glum vertical bar and reversed circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) when changing the peripheral substituent from dimesitylboryl to 2-(dimesitylboryl)phenyl. The substituent dependence of the CPL sign can be reasonably explained by the propeller configuration flipping of boron, which significantly influences the chiroptical properties.

Triple Oxa[7]helicene with Circularly Polarized Luminescence: Enhancing the Dissymmetry Factors via Helicene Subunit Multiplication

Fulin Zhou et al.

Summary: The synthesis of a structurally unusual triple oxa[7]helicene was disclosed in this study, showing an improved luminescence dissymmetry factor (g(lum) value compared to double oxa[7]helicene. This exemplifies the potential of the helicene subunit multiplication approach to enhance the g(lum) of heterohelicenes.
