A microfluidic surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor for microRNA in extracellular vesicles with nucleic acid-tyramine cascade amplification

Yue Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, a microfluidic surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor was developed for online detection of exosomal miRNA. The sensor achieved sensitive detection of abnormal exosomal miRNA using a rolling circle amplification (RCA) and tyramine signal amplification (TSA) strategy, showing potential practical applications.

A pico-HPLC-LIF system for the amplification-free determination of multiple miRNAs in cells

Wenmei Zhang et al.

Summary: MicroRNAs are important biomarkers that can provide valuable information about diseases and biological processes. An amplification-free method for the simultaneous detection of multiple miRNAs using a pico-HPLC-LIF system has been developed with a zeptomolar limit of detection. This method has been successfully applied to detect cellular miRNA in adenocarcinomic human alveolar basal epithelial cell extracts, enabling the simultaneous detection of mir-182, miR-155, and let-7a expressions.

Hybridization induced ion-barrier effect for the label-free and sensitive electrochemical sensing of Hepatocellular Carcinoma biomarker of miRNA-122

Feng Gao et al.

Summary: A label-free and sensitive electrochemical biosensing strategy has been proposed for detecting the hepatocellular carcinoma biomarker miRNA-122 based on the ion-barrier effect. The hybridization reaction induced ion-barrier effect enables the monitoring of miRNA-122, with the capability to analyze it within a certain concentration range.

Recent advances in the detection of multiple microRNAs

Chang Song et al.

Summary: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous, noncoding, single-stranded RNA molecules with an average length of about 22 nucleotides, playing important roles in cell differentiation, biological development, and disease progression. Analytical tools focusing on multiple miRNAs detection have been developed to better meet the needs of miRNA research, as the collective roles of multiple miRNAs are more critical than that of a single miRNA.

One-Pot Simultaneous Detection of Multiple DNA and MicroRNA by Integrating the Cationic-Conjugated Polymer and Nuclease-Assisted Cyclic Amplification

Junyue Chen et al.

Summary: A biosensor based on cationic polymers and nuclease-assisted cyclic amplification has been developed for the high sensitivity and specificity detection of multiple DNA and microRNA in a one-pot reaction. The biosensor utilizes a novel polymer quencher and DNA probes modified with multiple fluorophores to achieve specific and accurate detection even for single-base mismatches. This system shows promising potential for clinical diagnostics by distinguishing miRNA expression in various cell lines with reliable performance in real biological samples.
