Axial thrust and power consumption of propellers in viscoelastic fluids exhibiting hysteresis effect

Can Cao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the hysteresis effect of propeller jets in viscoelastic xanthan gum solutions by measuring axial thrust and torque. The axial thrust was found to be effective in distinguishing different flow patterns, while the torque difference between the two patterns at the same rotational speed in the hysteresis range was insignificant.

Summary: The analysis of viscous materials flow with diverse configurations has many applications in various fields. This study focuses on the ferro-fluid flow of viscous liquid submerged in carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and investigates the effects of magnetic dipole interaction, mixed convection, and Darcy-Forchheimer effects. The results show that the velocity of working fluid particles decreases with an increase in the ferromagnetic interaction parameter and Darcy-Forchheimer number, while the temperature distribution changes more rapidly with an increase in the radiative parameter and Biot number.

Analysis of Thermal Creep Effects on Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in a Microchannel Gas Heating

K. M. Ramadan et al.

Summary: In this study, the numerical simulation of thermal creep effects on fluid flow and heat transfer in microchannel gas flow at low velocities was conducted. The results showed that thermal creep has a significant impact on both velocity and temperature fields as Reynolds number decreases, leading to longer hydrodynamics entrance length. The study also revealed that thermal creep effect on heat exchange between gas and channel wall becomes more significant as Knudsen number decreases.

Thermal variable conductivity features in Buongiorno nanofluid model between parallel stretching disks: Improving energy system efficiency

A. Aldabesh et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the axisymmetric behavior of Casson nano-material between two stretchable disks using the Buongiorno nanofluid model. Similarity transformations are used to convert the governing equations into dimensionless form, and a homotopic procedure is suggested to determine the solution. The effects of various parameters on dimensionless velocity and temperature profiles are observed, with particular attention to the role of Brownian motion and thermophoresis diffusion parameters.

Study of Buongiorno's nanofluid model for flow due to stretching disks in presence of gyrotactic microorganisms

Yu-Ming Chu et al.

Summary: This research investigates the bioconvection flow of nanofluid induced by two stretchable disks separated at a confined distance using the Buongiorno nanofluid model. The study focuses on the impact of various parameters on velocity, nanofluid temperature, concentration, and density of motile microorganisms profiles. Results indicate that temperature profile increases within a specified range and then declines due to higher values of Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters, while the velocity profile exhibits a dual nature with higher stretching parameter values. Concentration decreases with increasing Brownian motion constant and Lewis number, and the motile microorganisms profile decreases with the enhancement of bioconvection Peclet number, Reynolds number, and Schmidt number.
