Techno-economic assessment of optimised vacuum swing adsorption for post-combustion CO2 capture from steam-methane reformer flue gas

Sai Gokul Subraveti et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the techno-economic assessment and optimization of CO2 capture and storage technology based on vacuum swing adsorption (VSA) process. Different adsorbents were optimized to minimize CO2 capture costs, with the IISERP MOF2 outperforming other options. The importance of using cost as a means of evaluating separation techniques was highlighted, along with the consideration of factors such as vacuum pump efficiency and material costs.

Performance comparison among three types of adsorbents in CO2 adsorption and recovery from wet flue gas

Yang Yang You et al.

Summary: The properties of adsorbents significantly affect their performance in CO2 adsorption and recovery from flue gas during VSA, with hydrophilic and hydrophobic adsorbents showing different capabilities in different conditions. Water vapor in flue gas has a significant impact on CO2 adsorption and recovery, and modified hydrophilic adsorbents can be used for this purpose in wet flue gas. This paper proposes new adsorption equilibrium expressions and compares the performance of different adsorbents in CO2 adsorption and recovery from wet flue gas.
