The experimental study focused on the liquid-liquid distribution and droplet dynamics in branching T-junction microchannels. Different droplet flow patterns were identified in the main channel and the effects of flow rates and crossing flow on two-phase distribution were described. The analysis and prediction of two-phase distribution achieved a good prediction effect on liquid-liquid two phases distribution in branching microchannels.
The liquid-liquid distribution and droplet dynamics in branching T-junction microchannels were studied experimentally. The droplet flow patterns in the main channel are divided into: short-slug flow, long-slug flow and parallel flow. According to the distribution characteristics of droplets in branching T-junction micro channels, it is divided into break up at branching microchannels C-1-C-4 and break up at branching microchannels C-1-C-5. The effects of flow rate of both phases and crossing flow on the two-phase distribution uniformity in branching microchannels & nbsp;C-1-C-4 & nbsp;and C-1-C-5 are described. Finally, the two-phase distribution in branching microchannels C-1-C-4 & nbsp;and C-1-C-5 is analyzed and predicted, and it has achieved a good prediction effect on liquid-liquid two phases distribution in branching microchannels.
