Defect-Engineered 3D Cross-Network Co3O4-xNx Nanostructure for High-Performance Solid-State Asymmetric Supercapacitors

Miao Xing et al.

Summary: The 3D cross-network Co3O4-xNx nanostructure obtained through amino acid self-assembly and pyrolysis has a high specific surface area and suitable pore diameter, providing abundant active sites and promoting ion migration to reduce volume expansion during cycling. The N-doping process through amino acid self-assembly helps improve material hydrophilicity, conductivity, and facilitates rapid electron transport within the electrode. These properties make Co3O4-xNx a promising material for supercapacitors, as demonstrated by high specific capacitance and excellent cycling stability in experimental results.

Nitrogen-doped interpenetrating porous carbon/graphene networks for supercapacitor applications

Zeyu Chen et al.

Summary: A novel strategy to prepare nitrogen-doped interpenetrating porous carbon/graphene networks was demonstrated, showing high nitrogen content and density, as well as ultrahigh specific gravimetric and volumetric capacitances. The interpenetrating networks structure allows for rapid electron transport, excellent conductivity, and good cycling stability, leading to ultrahigh energy density in symmetric supercapacitor assemblies. The present work holds promise for developing high performance energy storage and conversion devices.
