NH3-SCR performance and SO2 resistance comparison of CeO2 based catalysts with Fe/Mo additive surface decoration

Lin Zhu et al.

Summary: Surface modifications of CeO2 with Fe2O3 and/or MoO3 can adjust SCR catalytic performance and SO2 resistance. Fe2O3 slightly improves low temperature SCR activity, while MoO3 significantly enhances NOx conversion. Different deactivation behaviors are observed at 250 degrees C for the four catalysts.

A kinetic study of Hg(0) oxidation over Mo-promoted V-based SCR catalyst

Can Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the impact of HCl and NH3 on Hg(0) oxidation catalytic reaction was investigated through real-time Hg(0) oxidation experiment and X-ray Absorption Near-Edge Structure analysis. The research revealed that Hg(0) oxidation is influenced by the combined action of HCl and O-2. HgCl2 was identified as the major mercury species formed on the spent catalyst under typical flue gas conditions.

New insight into the role of Mo-Sb addition towards VMoSbTi catalysts with enhanced activity for selective catalytic reduction with NH3

Dong Wook Kwon et al.

Summary: The addition of Mo and/or Sb to a VTi catalyst improved its activity and durability in the SCR of nitrogen oxide by NH3. The addition of an appropriate amount of Mo-Sb enhanced the catalyst specific surface area, number of Bronsted acid sites, and surface species composition, thus improving catalytic activity. The presence of V2MoO8 played a key role in improving SCR performance and water/sulfur durability of the catalysts.

A comprehensive exploration about the effects of O2, SO2 and NO on As2O3 adsorption over Cu/γ-Al2O3 SCR catalyst: A DFT study

Jiaying Xing et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of O-2, SO2, and NO on arsenic adsorption over a Cu/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst using density functional theory method. Results showed that O-2 and SO2 facilitated As2O3 adsorption, while NO had a limited impact. The adsorption activities of different surfaces followed a certain order, but the adsorption selectivity weakened with increasing temperature.

Preferred enhancement of fast-SCR by Mn/CeSiOx catalyst: Study on Ce/Si promotion and shape dependence

Wei-Jing Li et al.

Summary: The 0.3Mn/Ce8Si2Ox-R catalyst with a Ce/Si ratio of 8/2 showed superior performance at low temperatures, exhibiting high NOx conversion by increasing surface acidity and inhibiting the side reaction of NH3, leading to the highest NOx conversion and Fast-SCR process. Additionally, the catalyst displayed higher poison resistance to HCl compared to SO2 during catalytic activity suppression.

Insight into the homogenous and heterogeneous transformation behavior of arsenic on commercial V2O5-WO3-TiO2 and novel γ-Fe2O3 catalysts during selective catalytic reduction of NOx

Xiaoyu Li et al.

Summary: The study found that oxygen enhanced the deactivation of V2O5-WO3-TiO2 caused by arsenic, but had a contrasting impact on the arsenic poisoning process of γ-Fe2O3. Additionally, temperature suppressed the deactivation effect of arsenic on both V2O5-WO3-TiO2 and γ-Fe2O3.

The microscopic oxidation mechanism of NH3 on CuO(111): A first-principles study

Chaohe Zheng et al.

Summary: The study investigated the ammonia oxidation over CuO surface and the formation routes of N-2 and NOx, aiming to understand the reaction mechanisms of nitrogen-containing species using DFT calculations. Different dominating elementary reactions for the formation of N-2, NO, NO2, and N2O were considered, along with proposed skeletal schemes of NH3 oxidation under different temperature conditions. The research also highlighted the impact of high temperature and surface adsorbed oxygen on the yield of gaseous NO and NO2, and discussed the effects of O2 and H2O on the fate of nitrogen during heterogeneous reactions.

Enhanced sulfur resistance of H3PW12O40-modified Fe2O3 catalyst for NH3-SCR: Synergistic effect of surface acidity and oxidation ability

Jiahui Wu et al.

Summary: The HPW-modified Fe2O3 catalysts exhibit excellent performance in the selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3, with high NO conversion rates and outstanding SO2 resistance. The increase in acid sites after HPW modification promotes NH3 adsorption and decreases the oxidation ability, effectively inhibiting overoxidation of NH3.

Performance of Mo modified γ-Fe2O3 catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia: Presence of arsenic in flue gas

Xiaoyu Li et al.

Summary: The effect of Mo on the γ-Fe2O3 catalyst in the denitrification process is significant in promoting the activity and resisting arsenic poisoning. Arsenic tends to combine with active iron sites on the catalyst, while Mo plays a key role in preventing arsenic from occupying these active sites.

Adsorption mechanismand competitive adsorption of As2O3 and NH3 molecules on CuO (111) surface: a DFT study

Jiaying Xing et al.

Summary: The adsorption mechanism and competitive adsorption behavior of NH3 and As2O3 molecules on CuO (111) surface were investigated using DFT simulations. Results showed that As2O3 was more likely to adsorb on the surface than NH3, and a N-Cu bond was formed during NH3 adsorption. Thermodynamic analysis suggested that physisorption was the primary form of adsorption for NH3 and As2O3 molecules on CuO under the actual SCR condition.
