Clinical efficacy of mineralized collagen (MC) versus anorganic bovine bone (Bio-Oss) for immediate implant placement in esthetic area: a single-center retrospective study

Yan Dai et al.

Summary: In immediate implant placement in the esthetic area, mineralized collagen (MC) showed similar clinical efficacy to anorganic bovine bone (Bio-Oss) in terms of implant survival rate, bone loss, aesthetic score, and patient satisfaction, indicating that MC could be considered as an alternative bone graft in IIP.

Fabrication and characterization of 3D printed biocomposite scaffolds based on PCL and zirconia nanoparticles

Qifan Wang et al.

Summary: The study embedded nano-zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) powder in PCL material through a melt-mixing process and constructed a regular grid scaffold by 3D printing. The composite scaffold showed improved hydrophilicity and water absorption, facilitating cell adhesion, proliferation, and growth, as well as nutrient exchange. Furthermore, the addition of ZrO2 significantly enhanced the mechanical properties of the scaffold, leading to better biological activity and osteogenic differentiation compared to pure PCL materials.
