Effect of c-BN on the microstructure and high temperature wear resistance of laser cladded Ni-based composite coating

Yue Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, composite coatings of Ni60 + Cu/h-BN + MoO3 and Ni60 + Cu/c-BN + MoO3 were fabricated by laser cladding, with the addition of c-BN improving microstructure, high temperature hardness, and wear resistance properties. The c-BN decomposition during the process led to the formation of reinforcements, increasing coating hardness and reducing wear rate at various temperatures. The transition of remaining c-BN particles into h-BN and the lubricating property provided by h-BN also contributed to the enhanced performance of the coatings.

High-temperature wear behavior of micro- and ultrananocrystalline diamond films against titanium alloy

Qiang Lin et al.

Summary: The study revealed that the wear of diamond films at low temperatures is mainly induced by the strong adhesion between diamond and titanium, while at high temperatures, oxygen significantly etches the diamond films, causing loss of carbon atoms and increased wear.

Summary: High entropy ceramics films were deposited on Inconel 718 alloys using multi-arc ion plating equipment with different nitrogen flow ratios, affecting the microstructure, mechanical properties, and tribological properties of the films. The films exhibited varying structures and characteristics depending on the nitrogen flow ratio, with higher ratios resulting in improved wear resistance and lower wear rates.
