CuBi2O4/BiOBr composites promoted PMS activation for the degradation of tetracycline: S-scheme mechanism boosted Cu2+/Cu+ cycle

Summary: CuBi2O4/BiOBr S-scheme photocatalysts exhibited excellent performance and stability in tetracycline degradation. The S-scheme heterojunction promoted the activation of peroxymonosulfate and Cu2+/Cu+ cycle. Compared with bare CuBi2O4 and BiOBr, CuBi2O4/BiOBr-50 showed significantly increased degradation rate of tetracycline. Furthermore, it could perform photocatalytic reactions in a wide pH range.

Boosting the activation of Peroxymonosulfate and the degradation of metronidazole over FeCo2O4 quantum dots anchored on β-FeOOH Nanosheets: Inspired from octahedral Co(II) with missing angle

Bi2WO6 nanosheets assembled BN quantum dots: Enhanced charge separation and photocatalytic antibiotics degradation

Promoting photocatalytic interaction of boron doped reduced graphene oxide supported BiFeO3 nanocomposite for visible-light-induced organic pollutant degradation

Summary: The morphology of a semiconductor heterojunction photocatalyst plays a crucial role in its photocatalytic performance in wastewater treatment. In this study, boron-doped reduced graphene oxide (B-rGO) supported by bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) nanocomposite was synthesized through simple one-pot mild hydrothermal synthesis. The non-metal doping of reduced graphene oxide improved the photophysical properties and increased the charge carrier recombination factor. The XRD, FT-IR, UV DRS, VSM, SEM, and TEM characterization techniques confirmed the intimate layer contact between B-rGO and BiFeO3 nanocomposite. The developed nanocomposite demonstrated excellent degradation efficiency for tetracycline and rhodamine B, and exhibited good photostability. Non-metal doping technology shows promising potential in environmental wastewater and pharmaceutical water detoxification.

Novel Z-scheme In2S3/Bi2WO6 core-shell heterojunctions with synergistic enhanced photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride

Summary: Semiconductor photocatalytic technology is effective for addressing environmental issues. This study presents a low-cost and environmentally friendly catalyst, namely Z-scheme In2S3/Bi2WO6 core-shell composites. The composites exhibit significantly improved photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride under visible light irradiation. The proposed Z-scheme photocatalytic mechanism and degradation paths offer new approaches for the preparation of core-shell composites with broad applications in environmental remediation.

Controllable preparation of boron nitride quantum dots with small size and strong blue photoluminescence

Photocatalysis activation of peroxodisulfate over the supported Fe3O4 catalyst derived from MIL-88A(Fe) for efficient tetracycline hydrochloride degradation

The catalyst exhibited high degradation efficiency, simple recyclability, and excellent reusability even after 30 successive cycles. The study also investigated the degradation mechanism and possible pathways of TC degradation using various analytical techniques. Overall, immobilized Fe-based MOFs derivatives catalysts have significant potential for real and large-scale wastewater treatment.

Boron nitride quantum dots decorated MIL-100(Fe) for boosting the photo-generated charge separation in photocatalytic refractory antibiotics removal

Summary: Heterostructures photocatalysts constructed by boron nitride quantum dots (BNQDs) and MIL-100(Fe) (MNB) were successfully fabricated, showing large surface area, mesoporous structure, and enhanced visible light absorption. The MNB photocatalysts exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity for tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) degradation, with a photodegradation rate 5.3 times higher than that of pure MIL-100(Fe).
