Preparation and magnetic properties of core-shell structured Fe-Si/Fe3O4 composites via in-situ reaction method

Chi Zhang et al.

Summary: Fe-Si/Fe3O4 soft magnetic composites were fabricated via in-situ reaction method, with the formation and thickness of the Fe3O4 coating layer controlled by adjusting the concentration of KNO3 solution to adjust the magnetic performance. The formation of Fe3O4 shell on Fe-Si particles effectively reduces the core loss. The samples in-situ reacted in 0.1 mol/L KNO3 solution demonstrate excellent comprehensive properties with high saturation magnetization, relatively high permeability, great frequency stability of permeability, and very low core loss.

Magnetic properties and loss separation mechanism of FeSi soft magnetic composites with in situ NiZn-ferrite coating

Jinghui Wang et al.

Summary: This study compared and analyzed the soft magnetic properties of Fe-6.5 wt.%Si (FeSi) soft magnetic composites (SMCs) coated with various contents of NiZn-ferrite and compacted at different forming pressures. A three-dimensional loss separation model was established to investigate the relative loss mechanisms for the FeSi SMCs fabricated under different parameters, revealing that total core loss variation is mainly induced by changes in hysteresis loss and excess loss. The results provide insights into regulating the soft magnetic properties of SMCs for high-frequency and high-power applications in electromagnetic components.

Summary: Ag-doped magnesium oxide nanoparticles were synthesized through chemical precipitation method, leading to smaller crystallite size and enhanced dielectric properties. Two possible mechanisms for the improvement of dielectric constant of Ag-doped MgO were summarized: inhibition of grain growth and generation of oxygen vacancies after Ag doping. Additionally, the ac conductivity of MgO NPs was improved after doping due to relatively low electron-transfer resistance.
