Determinants of vaccination dropout among children 12-23 months age in north Gondar zone, northwest Ethiopia, 2019

Muluken Genetu Chanie et al.

Summary: In North Gondar, northwest Ethiopia, determinants of vaccination dropout among children aged 12-23 months were identified. Risk factors included counseling for mothers about vaccination, fear of vaccine side effects, attendance of postnatal care, and mothers not receiving tetanus toxoid vaccination during antenatal care visits. Management bodies and health workers need to focus on community outreach, counseling mothers, and ensuring tetanus toxoid vaccination for pregnant mothers to reduce vaccination dropout rates.
